Sheep often don't wander in a dramatic fashion. It's gradual, one bite of grass at a time, following what's in front of them, until they look up and the shepherd is nowhere to be seem. The same is true of us. Most of our wandering isn't dramatic rebellion. It's small steps, small choices, each one seeming reasonable, until we realize how far we've come.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6)

Spend a few minutes honestly evaluating: where have I drifted lately? It’s not always dramatic, but where have small steps taken me away from the shepherd? And then read Luke 15:4–7 and find rest in the Shepherd who seeks and saves the lost.
